How to use

How to make an LED look and export it for MADRIX

Open https://scattr.superbonfire.tech in Chrome or Edge. These browsers support WebGPU and video export. Other browsers fall back to slower CPU rendering.

Cloudflare Access

The first visit shows the Super Bonfire login. Sign in with Feishu or a passkey. Cloudflare Access keeps the session after that. See Sign in.

Load the map

  1. Open Setup.
  2. Drop a MADRIX patch CSV on the page, or load the Beijing or Chengdu fixtures.
  3. Check the 3D view. It should show the structure.

Make a look

  1. Open Create.
  2. Add a layer. Choose a Generator, a Chaser, or Media.
  3. Set the layer values in the inspector. Press U to show the keyframes.
  4. Press Space to play.

Keep the stack at 16 layers or fewer. Then the GPU renders the preview. Pre-compose layers (⇧⌘C) to save room.

Export for MADRIX

  1. Open Deliver.
  2. Set the composition, the time range, and the outputs.
  3. Export the pixelmap MP4 or PNG.
  4. In MADRIX, import the same CSV in the Patch Editor. Match the Voxel Map Area to the matrix size.
  5. Load the pixelmap file in SCE Image or SCE Video. Turn Stretch off.

Do not use the preview video

A file that ends in -preview3d.mp4 is only a preview. Do not load it in SCE Video.

Save your work

Save the project with ⌘S. The file ends in .scattr and holds the media that you added. Open a project with ⌘O.

Shortcuts

  • 1 2 3 — Setup, Create, Deliver.
  • Space — play or pause.
